CREA is an Italian company founded in 1978. We import high-quality raw materials from which we produce semifinished dried fruit products, products derived from cocoa and fine chocolates.

Our deep knowledge in choosing raw materials and our long experience in processing them, combined with the flexibility of a carefully controlled production cycle, make CREA a unique company in its field.

Our roots are in the Cuneo region. It is the geographical area closest to the place where the world's most prized hazelnuts are produced, the Nocciola Piemonte IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) or Tonda Gentile Trilobata, which we roast, grind and make into a paste right here, paying careful attention to every step of the process to preserve all of the hazelnut’s characteristics.

We do the same to produce the finest chocolate and cocoa mass beginning with the painstaking selection of beans directly from their places of origin, followed by the meticulous control of the roasting process to enhance their various organoleptic characteristics. With this approach and with great respect for the ingredients, CREA has innovated and experimented with their own production of first quality chocolates and chocolate tablets.

We like to tell connoisseurs of the finer things in life the origin of our specialties. They are born of the union of one of the most precious hazelnuts of our region, the Nocciola Gentile delle Langhe and combined with finest cocoa beans from the world’s best production areas to produce the most delicious varieties of chocolate.

Central and South American Cocoa Mass

An incantation of aromatic blends like no other, this is an exciting product intended for those with a pure passion. These cocoa masses come from countries where in ancient times chocolate, called the "food of the gods", developed. The Mayans were probably the first to cultivate the cocoa plant. They considered it a food so exquisite that its consumption was reserved only for kings, nobles and warriors. Later the Aztecs developed methods for farming it. They even associated it with the goddess of fertility and used it during mystical and sacrificial religious ceremonies.

Flavored with vanilla, chili or pepper, it was consumed as a drink to relieve fatigue. Considered a luxury item, its seeds were used as currency or as unit of measure. A variety of exhilarating and captivating flavors originate from each production area. Ecuador, considered one of the best areas in the world for the production of cocoa, unleashes a fruity fragrance with hints of coffee and rum. In the Amazon, the cocoa develops an intense aroma with notes of fresh tropical fruits. Venezuelan cocoa, on the other hand, is complex, with cherry and tobacco aromas dominating.

African Cocoa Mass

To get top quality cocoa masses, we follow a painstaking production process. The cocoa beans, previously selected in their countries of origin, are roasted, cooled, ground and then sifted using standard sieve sizes to remove shells and impurities.

During the whole production process, a continuous aspiration completely removes the shells. The "nibs" thus obtained are sent to refiners to produce pure cocoa masses. We have developed a wide range of cocoa masses from beans coming from various production areas in Africa having different specifications and individual roasting levels to enhance the aromatic and organoleptic characteristics of all types. We produce both "African Blend" cocoa masses and "single origin" ones which emphasize the flavor of the various areas of origin: those from Ghana are fruity, full-bodied and delicate; from the Ivory Coast, astringent and acidic; from Nigeria, delicate and strongly acidic; and from Madagascar, with hints of berries.

Dark Chocolate Tablets

The aroma of each kind of chocolate captivates the senses, evoking the fragrances of the lands from where it originates. CREA's line of chocolate tablets is special due to our research into the origins of the cocoa. We use this research to bring out the individual aromatic and organoleptic characteristics of each bean to satisfy every palate.

Our dark chocolate is a tablet with a higher percentage of cocoa that is very appreciated by consumers: 73% fine cocoa in a proportion that can also be modified and customized on request. With an intense and full flavor, it is the result of a long and careful process that wins you over with its strong and aromatic nature.

We propose chocolate sweetened with erythritol, a natural sweetener with a glycemic index close to zero and a near-zero calorie intake. Also, erythritol has been certified as toothfriendly product and has been amply demonstrated to not cause tooth decay.

Chocolate Truffles, Cremino and Giandujotti

In Piedmont, the sweet white and brown chocolate truffles are named after and look like that scented, rare and unique product from this territory: the precious “Truffle” of the Langhe area.

By adding chocolate to the precious PGI hazelnut from Piedmont, which is also called “round and gentle hazelnut of the Langhe” and considered the best hazelnut variety all over the world, we manufacture chocolates which gather the whole original flavor of this area. Hazelnuts are also the main ingredient for our Cremino, one of the most appreciated chocolates, with a long fascinating history full of passion, emotions and delicacy. But the real sweet symbol of Piedmont and of Turin certainly is the Giandujotto which has kept its peculiar shape since the middle of the 18th century, a time when cocoa was as precious as gold. Its unique flavor and smooth creamy texture make it the most appreciated chocolate everywhere, the result of a mix of the best cocoa varieties together with the precious hazelnuts from our hills.
